Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:

He had been serving in the 15th Independent Railroad Bridge Battalion since June 25, 1941. While serving as a platoon leader, he and a group of men were operating at Bazilevskaya Station, where they were preparing to place obstacles. He was compelled to work under systematic enemy aerial bombardment. Having organized a group of men armed with light machine guns, he took charge of this group. Inspiring the men through personal example, comrade Zaletsky covered the work site.

On August 7, 1941 comrade Zaletsky was given orders to put the battalion's equipment across the Dnieper River by barge, moving it from the city of Kryukov to the city of Kremenchug. The crossing site was under constant enemy artillery and mortar fire. Comrade Zaletsky, doing the work himself, organized the task in such a manner that within two hours, he and a crew of 20 men were able to unload the barge. The battalion's equipment was saved, despite the fact that during unloading, the barge was hit by a mortar shell.

When the Svyatogorskaya-Savintsy railroad sector was being repaired, the repair work was in danger of being cut short, since no forged parts and other metal materials had been delivered by other units. Comrade G.I. Zaletsky was ordered to procure the necessary materials and ensure that the bridge repair operations could continue without interruptions. He organized a group of men, but 50 percent of them were not specialists. Along with them he did not leave the blacksmith's shop - which was set up in a shed using field forges - for 30 hours straight, procuring the materials. He accomplished his assignment in a timely manner, providing the necessary forged parts and other metal materials.

Comrade Zaletsky, a brave commander who is able to organize his men and make them accomplish their tasks, was promoted to the position of company commander in October 1941. Comrade Zaletsky is highly disciplined and morally stalwart.
