Salim Khaliulin

Order of the Red Banner of Labor nr. 9117 was awarded by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of June 3, 1942 to Salim Khaliulin, rigger at Factory nr. 8 in Sverdlovsk.

Factory nr. 8 was an artillery production facility. It was established in Podlipki (near Moscow) in 1918. By 1938, it was one of the biggest artillery producers in Soviet Union, having most of its design and production centered around 45mm artillery pieces (field, antiaircraft, tank, and naval guns). The main Soviet 45mm antitank field gun was designed and manufactured at Factory nr. 8. In 1941, the plant was evacuated to Sverdlovsk. It was later integrated into a larger arms manufacturing plant.
